The Ultra Thin Wood Trim LED Oyster Ceiling Light is a flat round ceiling light with a slim rim, painted over most of its circumference and wood-toned across one wedge, closed by a polycarbonate diffuser that covers the full face of the fitting. The LED sits behind that diffuser as a bank of 15 to 20 emitters, so the light leaves the fitting as one even disc with no bright spot in the middle and no visible dots through the cover.
It comes in five diameters, from Ø23 cm at 13W up to Ø60 cm at 64W, and the body is offered in white, black or grey. Because it mounts flat against the ceiling, it keeps the full head height of a kitchen, a hallway or a room with a standard ceiling, where a pendant would be in the way.

Installation and Care
Installation
This ceiling light is hardwired and requires assembly. In Australia, hardwired light fittings must be installed by a licensed electrician. The fitting mounts flat to the ceiling, so the bracket needs a fixing point that suits the weight of the size chosen. The three fixed light colours are set at purchase and cannot be changed afterwards, and they do not work on a wall dimmer; brightness control comes only from the remote dimmable version.
Care
Switch off power at the wall before cleaning. Wipe the polycarbonate diffuser with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which scratch and cloud polycarbonate. The LED is integrated and not replaceable as a bulb.

A disc, not a fixture
Only a shallow rim and a flat face, fixed straight to the ceiling. Nothing hangs down, so it keeps the full head height of a kitchen, a hallway or a 2.4 m room.
Five diameters, 13W to 64W
Ø 23, 30, 40, 50 and 60 cm in the same design, so one fitting can light a robe and another the whole open plan — and they match.
CRI above 95, and cold white at 6000K

Two zones, one design
An open plan kitchen and dining area is the clearest case for it. One fitting in the middle of the room leaves the bench in shadow; the larger size centred over the bench and one size down over the table lights both jobs, and because it is the same disc in both places the ceiling reads as planned rather than patched.

Frequently asked questions
Is cold white available, and how cold is it?
Yes. Cold white is 6000K, chosen as an option at purchase. Warm white and natural white are also offered, but the manufacturer does not state their kelvin values. The light colour is fixed on those three versions and cannot be changed after installation.
Which size suits the room?
The manufacturer rates the fitting for about 10 to 15 square metres without itemising by size. As a guide, Ø 23 and Ø 30 cm suit an entry, hallway or small bedroom, Ø 40 cm a bedroom or a dining table, and Ø 50 and Ø 60 cm a kitchen or an open living area. Above roughly 22 square metres, two fittings spaced evenly read better than one.
Can it be dimmed, and does it need an electrician?
Only the remote dimmable version adjusts brightness, from a handset, and it costs A$30 more than the fixed versions in every size; the manufacturer does not state whether it also changes the colour temperature. The warm, natural and cold white versions are not dimmable and are not intended for a wall dimmer. The fitting is hardwired, so in Australia a licensed electrician installs it.
